Some studies require «healthy volunteers », meaning without any pathology which might influence the results of the study. However, nobody is perfect: one day or the other, everyone suffers or suffered from an illness or anomaly. “Healthy volunteer” must therefore be understood as « healthy » in a specific context. Indeed, a patient who suffers from high blood pressure will be considered as “healthy” for a dermatological test. It will not be the same if the trial concerns a hypotensive medicine.
